I have the morning off, so I'm going to try to do some quick catching up before I continue with my other household chores. Here goes ~
A couple of Saturdays ago, we headed to northern Alabama to Little River Canyon for the afternoon. It was really pretty, and the little ones enjoyed playing in the water.
Those rocks were slippery!
Madison had a really bad backache from a softball incident, so she was just taking it easy on a rock.
A sudden heavy downpour had us running for cover under a bridge.
A week before that, Cari enjoyed cheering at her first pep rally and first Varsity football game! They won 42 to 6 ~ way to start the season!
For Madison, softball is nearing the end with only three games left, and it has been a super fast season. Hasn't been the greatest season. Seems like we either get run-ruled or run-rule somebody. Not much in between. Maybe they'll finish the season with some good wins. One can hope. :>)
On a more positive note, Madison's school started a "Player of the Week" program this year as an encouragement to the athletes, and Madison was chosen the first week!
Also of note, Brad has been called as the interim pastor of a church we were members of for many years. Sort of feels like home and then sort of doesn't as there are so many new faces. Almost seems like more new faces than old faces, but we're slowly adjusting. The children aren't real happy and are missing "their church," but maybe they'll adjust, too, if need be - who knows how long we'll be there. It couldn't have come at a better time, though. It has been a HUGE blessing in so many ways.
These have been bright spots in an otherwise disappointing month, but I'm thankful for the realization that my joy is not found in circumstances or in the fulfillment of something that I'm waiting to come to pass. I can have joy now. No need to wait because I know that God wastes nothing - He makes everything work out according to His plan. (Ephesians 1:1)
